Summer’s almost over, which means it’s time to start thinking about your fall makeup, wardrobe and hair styles.
Judging from the hairdos runway models are sporting, fall 2014 is about being sleek or tousled, braided or twisted, updos or angled cuts reminiscent of the 1970s, stick straight hair or gentle waves, and ponytails galore.
You can pretty much do what you please if your hair is medium-length or longer!
On runways in Paris, ballerina buns were much in evidence. Most were super-sleek, but some were deliberately left a bit messy.
Several Paris designers opted for braids, either tight or worn as half-up half-down fishtails. Others tucked and twisted layered sections of hair into pretty updos.
Center parts were center stage as well, with some designers choosing severely parted hair and others going for center parts with softer pulled out pieces and low buns.
Some designers showcased hairstyles with mixed textures and straight strands, a few choosing a drastic, futuristic look.
Polished, 1930s style Bohemian waves were featured as well.
Finally, ponytails, that easiest of all hairstyles to do, were everywhere in various incarnations from sleek and taut to soft and untidy.
You can try them all—this fall, almost anything goes!
