Need some extra “lift” around your eyes? Before you visit a plastic surgeon, consider trying some do-it-yourself acupressure. Acupressure advocates say it really works, and it’s certainly a lot less expensive than plastic surgery!
You can use acupressure exercises with any type of skin care regimen because skin responds particularly well acupressure. Facial acupressure exercises use both the balls of the fingertips and the palms of the hands. Use firm, but gentle pressure for best results. If you notice tender spots, then most likely you are hitting the exact points that need stimulation. These places will become less sensitive over time.
Here’s an acupressure facial exercise designed to eliminate crow’s feet and tone the entire eye area:
Work on both eyes simultaneously. Apply a light moisturizer or facial oil first. Use your middle fingers and work bi-laterally, using light pressure as you circle around each eye area.
Place your middle fingers at the insides of your eyebrows. Press gently along the top of your eyebrow to the end of the brow and continue under your eye to the top of your cheekbones and continue to the inside corners of your eyes. Do this in a circular motion around the eyes thirty times every day.
Try this for three weeks and you’ll likely see positive results!
