So many of us give the skin on our faces much more attention than the skin on our hands, and that’s a big mistake! Nothing shows aging more than hands, and sun damage is the biggest culprit.
Protecting your hands from the sun means they’ll look younger longer. Use a good quality hand cream at least twice a day, and treat your hands with sunscreen before going out of doors, even if it’s just to drive your car to the local store. Sun streaming in through car windows is one of the ways in which our skin gets sun exposure, so if you drive a lot, wear gloves to protect hands from aging and damaging UV rays.
If you can find one, use a hand cream with high SPF on days you plan to be outside, and reapply sunscreen to your hands periodically. Using an anti-aging hand cream with brightening ingredients such as kojic acid, mushroom extract, vitamin C and licorice will help fade any dark spots you may have.
Treat your hands to an exfoliating scrub once a week. Either buy on, or combine equal parts sugar and olive oil, and massage into your hands before washing and applying hand cream.
And always wear gloves when doing the dishes. Harsh soap and hot water will make your hands look older!
